Built on both banks of the Trident where the kingsroad crosses at the ruby ford, this town controls one of the busiest river crossings in Westeros. Ferries and a bridge carry the traffic moving between the capital and the North.

House Harroway once held it and gave the place its name before the family rose to Harrenhal and fell with it. The ford has drawn armies repeatedly, and Rhaegar Targaryen met Robert Baratheon in battle there.
