Built in the marches on the western edge of the stormlands, Blackhaven watches the approaches from the Red Mountains and Dorne. Its black basalt walls and deep dry moat suit a frontier fortress.

House Dondarrion holds it, marcher lords whose forked lightning banner recalls centuries of border warfare. Beric Dondarrion is its young lord, and the castle's garrison has long dealt with raids that formal peace treaties never quite stopped.
