Standing in the westerlands hills not far from Castamere, this castle was the seat of House Tarbeck, a family raised high by a good marriage and by loans that Casterly Rock was slow to call in. Little of it is left above the ground.
When the Tarbecks joined the Reynes in rebellion, Tywin Lannister brought the walls down and ended both houses in a single campaign. The ruin has been left as it fell, and the same song recalls them and Castamere together.
