Curving across the north and west of Dorne, these dry red peaks form the natural border with the Reach and the stormlands. Only the Prince's Pass and the Boneway carry roads through them.

Dornish mountain houses such as the Fowlers, Manwoodys, Blackmonts and Daynes hold the valleys and passes. The range, together with the deserts behind it, is the chief reason Dorne resisted conquest when the rest of Westeros could not.
