Cutting through the western Red Mountains, this is the broader and gentler of the two passes into Dorne, running from Skyreach north-west towards the Reach and the marcher castles. Merchants and armies have used it for thousands of years.

House Fowler guards the Dornish end from Skyreach, and Nightsong and Blackhaven watch the far side. Whoever controls the pass controls most of the traffic between Dorne and the rest of Westeros.
