Lying west of Pyke among the Iron Islands, Old Wyk is small, bleak and sacred. Nagga's ribs, a ring of vast pale stone pillars said to be the bones of a sea dragon, stand on its hill above the shore.

When the ironborn choose a king by kingsmoot, captains come here to the Grey King's hall and shout for their candidate. Drowned men who conduct the rite hold this island in higher regard than any castle in the isles.
