Located on the river Cockleswhent in the central Reach, Ashford is a small castle with a town beside it, close to the roads leading south and east from Highgarden. Fords across the river give the place its name.

House Ashford holds it under the Tyrells. A tourney held in the meadows outside the town during the reign of Daeron the Second is still recalled by singers, and the field has been used for musters since.
