Lying between Shipbreaker Bay and the narrow sea off the stormlands coast, Tarth is a green island of mountains, meadows and waterfalls, larger and gentler than most of the region. Evenfall Hall stands on its western shore.
Its nickname comes from the deep blue of the surrounding water rather than any gemstones. House Tarth holds it for Storm's End, and its position gives the island a share of the shipping passing up the coast.
