Positioned on the Boneway where it climbs towards the stormlands, Wyl guards the eastern route between Dorne and the marches. Yronwood lies to the south-west along the same road.
House Wyl holds it under the Martells. The family has raided the marches for centuries, and one Lord Wyl earned particular notoriety among the marcher lords, whose songs about him are not complimentary.
