Sitting on the Blue Fork of the Trident north of Riverrun, Fairmarket takes its name from the fairs held there. The town has no walls and no great castle, but its ford and bridge make it a natural halt on the roads through the northern riverlands.

Merchants, drovers and river traffic pass through constantly, which also makes it a target whenever fighting reaches the Trident. Oldstones lies a short ride upstream along the same bank.
