Standing in the hills north-east of Casterly Rock, Ashemark is a solid stone castle set among mines and upland pasture. The road towards the Golden Tooth passes not far to the north.
House Marbrand holds it for the Lannisters, and its lords are counted among Tywin Lannister's more capable bannermen. Ser Addam Marbrand commands cavalry in the westerlands host, and the burning tree of the house is well known on the field.
